The plant has umbrella shaped shiny green leaves splashed with yellow colour. Its stem is herbaceous and it may require a support to stand erect after attaining height of 1 foot or more. This is an indoor plant and it likes to grow in diffused or shady sunlight. The plant can achieve maximum height of 6 feet. Schefflera prefers daily misting for better look of leaves. We can grow this plant round the year. Like other plant, this also needs proper ventilation to ensure its better health.
Watering & Sunlight: This plant prefers to grow well in diffused sunlight. We should water, only when the soil becomes dry. Proper drainage by making sufficient holes in bottom of pot is must.
Soil: Its potting mix must be aerated well by use of drainage media upto 20 % (river sand, Leca, Pumice/Perlite or rice husk- use any one of them). All these items help in aeration also. We can mix upto 30% cocopeat and 50 % (mix of vermi compost + sterilised garden soil + 5% Neem Cake) in its potting mix. This plant does not require frequent fertilizers. We may add fertlizers once in six months.
Uses: Ornamental use. The plant is used as single plant in pot.
