This plant grows in form of hedges also and blooms red flowers. Regular pruning induces more flowering. The plant becomes bushy and woody after attaining maturity. It can be used for landscaping of lawn also. The plant does not need any special care.Some gardeners make beautiful figures by careful pruning of this plant. This plant is also used as hedge plant. It can become a tree of 9-10 feet, if we do not prune regularly. The plant blooms round the year. Blooming will be maximum during spring and summer season. During winter season, blooming may reduce. Regular pruning enhances its bushy growth and blooming.

Watering & Sunlight:

It likes sunlight but can grow in diffused sunlight also. Blooming will be very less in diffused sunlight. Minimum 4 hours direct sunlight availability is must for its blooming. A matured plant (with height of minimum 3 feet) grown on open ground can survive without water for a longer time. We should water it, whenever the soil of your pot becomes dry.

Soil:     Drainage in pot is necessary by making sufficient holes in bottom. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any one of them) in potting mix must be available. If you give sufficient water and vermi-compost, it shows more vibrant and bright green colours. It’s a long life plant. Even if you don’t give fertiliser, it shows satisfactory growth.

Uses:             Ornamental use as shrub, hedge also. The plant is also used as single plant in pot.
