Common Names:         Ixora Long, Jungle Geranium, Flame of the Woods, Jungle Flame, West Indian jasmine, Singapuri Ixora.

This is grafted variety of Ixora plant and belongs to Rubiaceae family. This grafted variety is capable to bloom at smaller height (1 foot). 2 or 3 plants are available in same pot to make its look dense. It is widely found in Tropical Asia. In some countries of world, plant lovers refer it as West Indian Jasmine. The plants possess leaves, ranging from 2 to 3 inches in length, and produce clusters of tiny flowers especially in the summer. Flower colour varies as per variety- Red, yellow, orange, pink, white (as per variety). Its blooming reduces in winter (if temperature goes less than 15⁰ C). It’s a perennial plant.

Watering & Sunlight:  This plant can bloom even with daily sunlight of 4 hours. In diffused sunlight, blooming may partially reduce. We should water, only when the soil becomes dry. Optimum watering helps plants in protection from unwanted nematodes and pest attack also. Proper drainage by making sufficient holes in bottom of pot is must.

 Soil:      To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any one of them) in potting mix must be available.  Moreover, 20 % vermi-compost, 10 % Neem Cake, 30 % Cocopeat and 20% garden soil is must for its healthy growth.
