This grafted bonsai is union of two plants. Lower portion is made by more aged plant of microcarpa and upper portion of this Bonsai belongs to Ficus family of plants. The best part of this Bonsai is that it is very easy to grow and does not need special care. It can withstand weather adversity and live longer. Its lower portion is always unique in its shape. Most of the plant lovers like to gift this to their dear ones on any occasion. It’s lower portion shows signs of matured tree even at smaller height. Regular pruning can ensure dense growth of this plant.
This plant is a classic example of skillful grafting between two different plants. Grafting of plants is a lengthy and interesting process.
Watering & Sunlight:
It likes to grow with indirect sunlight of shady areas. We should water it, whenever the soil of your pot becomes dry.
Soil: Drainage in pot is necessary by making sufficient holes in bottom. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any one of them) in potting mix must be available. It’s a long life plant. Even if you don’t give fertiliser, it shows satisfactory growth. You should add vermi-compost after six months.
Uses: Gift plant. The plant is also used as single indoor plant in pot.
