It is a semi-succulent perennial herb. Its aromatic leaves are densely velvety and fleshy. This plant is drought resistant in nature. Its seeds are very useful as spices and medicines. We can see white flowers on this plant during starting of winter season. It can attain Max. height upto 3 feet. If we cut its leaves, it will give smell similar to Ajwain seeds. This is perennial plant and continues to grow horizontally. Its stem is herbacaeous and not strong enough to support a big plant.
Watering & Sunlight: This plant likes to grow in direct sunlight, but we can grow in indirect sunlight also. We should water it whenever the soil has become dry.
Soil:Water logging is to be avoided. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any one of them) in potting mix should be available. In rest of the potting mix, we should mix vermi-compost (20 %) and garden soil (60%).
Culinary use: Used in cooking vegetables as spices.
Medicinal use: The plant is medicinally useful in various ailments.
